Youngsters from Knysna Secondary School put pen to paper to showcase their talent for a very worthy cause. Interested pupils from Grade 11 of Knysna Secondary School were asked to participate in a poster project with the aim to raise awareness of teenage pregnancy, contraception use and the B-Wise App within their community. The project kicked off in 2020 and the scholars used their own time to work on their posters. “We are aware of the challenges that young people face and hope that more youth will use readily available information such as those on the mobi sites B-Wise. It is our hope to help someone with this project who might feel pressured by their peers”, said the scholars.

The two scholars produced a handful of posters of which two will be circulated in the community during the first round and the others the next round.

“We welcome the youth of Hornlee to the local clinic. We have dedicated times for youth; however adolescents will be assisted throughout the day if a specific condition requires this. Services include: Health promotion, disease prevention, curative interventions, reproductive health, sexual health, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and TB, Mental Health/Illness, substance abuse, violence and injury and family planning”, said clinic managers from Knysna.
