Media Alert: Minister van Rensburg to Address Drinking Water Problems

Minister van Rensburg will visit Paarl farmer, JT Basson, on his farm in Paarl today at 10:30. He will be accompanied by the Drakenstein Mayor, Gesie van Deventer, and they will discuss short-term solutions to provide drinking water to the farm's inhabitants. The Department of Water Affairs indicated irrigation water supply to the farm will be stopped if a solution is not found within 24 hours. All press are invited. A water tanker from the local municipality will be delivering drinking water to the farm's inhabitants.

Directions from Cape Town: Follow N1 to toll gate. Take the R101 up on to a bridge. Turn right at the stop. Cross the N1 and after 50 metres, turn left into Chase Road. After approximately 1 km, the road makes a 90-degree bend. At the bend, proceed straight ahead through farm gate up to the thatched roof house.
