Minister Simmers to meet Bergsig Community

Today, 15 October 2021, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements will engage the Bergsig community at a Public Meeting, in the Town Hall in Miller Street, Calitzdorp.

The engagement will be to discuss matters pertaining to Human Settlements issues, plans and/or concerns of the community thereto.

Minister Simmers said:” In remaining true to our policies and commitments to our citizens and to ensure that we consistently maintain transparency in our and delivery of services, it is essential that we have this meeting with the community of Bergsig. Too often misinformation gets fed to our communities and false promises from unofficial sources are made which leads to distrust and which causes anxiety in our society. It is for this very reason we avail ourselves as often as we can to keep our most important stakeholders, which is the public at large, informed on all matters related to human settlements.”

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
