Minister Simmers to handover title deeds in Blue Downs

15 September 2021

On Thursday, 16 September 2021, in commemoration of South Africa National Wills Week, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will handover title deeds to community members of Blue Downs.

Minister Simmers said: “A title deed is not only a document that proves you’re the rightful owner of the property, but also a document that secures your livelihood and your family’s future. Now that our residents will have security of tenure, it is also important that a Will, which will leave a lasting legacy for the descendants be drawn up.

This is an exciting moment in the lives of particularly our elderly residents and I cannot wait to share in their joy. I’m particularly looking forward to personally handing over 77-year old Ms Gladys Damons’ title deed at her home. It also once again shows how the Western Cape Government is drastically changing our people’s lives”.

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.

ALL MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
