Minister Tertuis Simmers to host public meeting in Worcester

13 November 2020

On Sunday, 15 November 2020, Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Tertuis Simmers will host an information session with the first group of beneficiaries of Phase 1 of the TransHex Housing Project that is currently underway in Worcester.

The entire Phase 1, which has various sub-phases and an allocation of over R 210 million, is on track to deliver 3226 mixed housing opportunities, 4 places of worship, 1 site for a primary school and 6 business sites. This phase is envisaged to be completed by 2022.

Minister Simmers said: “I’m looking forward to the engaging the 190 beneficiaries, as we’ve committed to a transparent process. This session will allow us to clearly state what the current status of the project is, present the progress that we’ve made, where the project is heading and to dispel any misinformation that is doing the rounds in communities.

I am particularly looking forward to a frank discussion with our community members, as our primary aim is to improve the lives of our people.”

In our continued adherence to the COVID-19 regulations, particularly in keeping with social distancing, the engagement can be followed on Minister Simmers’ Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/HumanMinWC

For media present, there will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.

ALL MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
