Minister Tertuis Simmers to handover title deeds in Delft

9 December 2019

Today, 9 December 2019, Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will hand over 65 title deeds to deserving recipients in Delft.

This hand over has been made possible through our Enhanced Extended Discounted Benefit Scheme (EEDBS).

The title deed handover is part of the Department’s strategic goal in prioritising the elderly by ensuring ownership of their properties. The department believes that handing over title deeds gives people a sense of security, dignity and pride in having full ownership of their properties.

Minister Simmers said: “I’m looking forward to handing over these title deeds to our beneficiaries - in particular, the 27 pensioners, who for the first time, will now become fully-fledged home owners. As the Western Cape Government, we remain committed to improving the lives of our residents.”

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.

ALL MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
