Christmas Comes Early As Visually Impaired Granny Takes Occupation of Her Home
The Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela will on Thursday, 08 December 2016 hand over a house in Delft to visually impaired Ms Nozolile Qoboza aged 60. The house forms part of the Department’s Delft Symphony Infill Sites Housing Project.
Community leaders in the area previously appealed to Minister Madikizela to assist in improving Gogo Nozolile’s living conditions. Minister was concerned by Gogo Nozolile’s circumstances and assured the granny that she will receive a house in one of the finished units of the development.
The Delft Symphony Infill Sites Housing Project comprises the construction of 389 Breaking New Ground (BNG) housing units. To date, 258 units have been completed and the remaining 131 is currently under construction. All the housing units will be completed by March 2017.
Living up to his promise, Minister Madikizela will now hand over the house to Gogo Nozolile on Thursday, where she will have her first Christmas in her own house.
