Minister Madikizela Hands Over 200 Title Deeds to Delft Beneficiaries

27 August 2014

Proud Delft beneficiaries filled the massive Delft Community Civic Hall in Delft as 200 beneficiaries were presented with long-awaited title deeds to their own properties on 25 August 2014.

Among the 200 beneficiaries who received their title deeds, were also 40 pensioners who received title deeds for the first time after 20 years.

Provincial Minister of Human Settlements Bonginkosi Madikizela handed over the title deeds as part of Human Settlement’s strategic focus. Minister said “transferring of tittle deeds is part of the department’s strategy to inculcate a sense of ownership and responsibility among housing beneficiaries”.

“I am delighted to be here sharing in this momentous occasion with all the beneficiaries involved,” said Minister Madikizela. “May this be the beginning of a meaningful new chapter in the lives of the families and individuals receiving the prized title deeds to their precious land.”

“Today is not just about transferring properties, but about contributing and enabling people to make decisions about their own lives and those of their children and families,” Minister Madikizela said.
