Media Alert: Beneficiaries to Receive Houses in Kayamandi

On 24 May 2013, the Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela, along with the Executive Mayor of Stellenbosch, Mr Conrad Sidego, will hand some of the 106 completed houses over as part of the Watergang Housing Project, in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch Municipality of the Western Cape.

Nine beneficiaries with special needs will be receiving houses tomorrow, along with wheelchair bound, 89-year-old Lena Maasdorp, who was promised a house by Premier Helen Zille two years ago when she visited the area. Ms Maasdorp was also one of the fire victims at the recent fire in Zone O, Kayamandi.

The project is a multi-phase project, when completed, will deliver 2 000 units. A total number of 505 units were completed in 2011 as part of Phase 1, and the current amount of 106 units are part of Phase 2.

Directions: Turn into Kayamandi at the traffic lights on the R304, just before the bridge. At the traffic circle turn right onto Masitandani Road. The road curves right, then left, take the second road to the right, called Ndzawumbi Rd. Take the second left onto Luyolo Road, turn left at Makapula Rd then take the immediate right, continue straight ahead for another 250 metres, where you will see the development.
