Media Alert: 88-Year-Old to Receive House in Wesbank, Vredenburg

The Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela, will hand over the first 16 houses in the Wesbank Housing Project, Vredenburg, Western Cape. Also present will be the Executive Mayor of Saldanha, Councillor F Schippers, and the Deputy Mayor, Councillor R Jager.

The eldest beneficiary is 88-year-old Mr Hendrick Jaars. The project consists of 33 units, of which 16 are completed. The 16 completed units are the rectification of eroded clay houses and the remaining still-to-be completed 17 units will be to accommodate backyarders in the area.

The total project cost is R3.2 million and is expected to be complete in July 2013.
