It is estimated that Youth aged 15-24 years recorded the highest unemployment rate in the country with an astounding 66.5%. Around 3.4 million out of 10.2 million young people aged 15-24 years were not in employment, education or training (NEET). In the Western Cape, several initiatives and programmes are being implemented to provide young people with opportunities to access skills and personal development.
