Today, the Western Cape Minister of Social Development, Albert Fritz, joined by the Minister of Human Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela, will visit the home of a disabled Gugulethu man who has been abandoned by family. Social workers are currently assisting the man.

The Ministers will assess what both their Departments can do to assist this family. The visit forms part of our oversight efforts on services to people with disability.

This case was brought to our attention by community members and through the media.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
