Minister Fritz to address Vredendal Agri-Worker Sports Day

Tomorrow, the Western Cape Minister of Social Development, Albert Fritz, will address the 2017 Agri-Worker Sports Day event in Vredendal.

The event will be a full day of sport and cultural activities, with a carnival atmosphere, and will be attended by hundreds of farmworkers, farmers and community members from Vredendal and surrounding areas on the West Coast.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness around social issues which affect rural communities, such as substance abuse and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS).

The event is hosted in partnership with NGO Landbou Gemeenskap Ontwikkeling, which is an NGO that runs community development initiatives in rural areas in the Western Cape.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.

Time: Starts at 08:45am, with Minister to address the gathering at 12:30pm.
