Tomorrow, provincial Social Development Minister, Adv. Albert Fritz, will address an Autism Expo, hosted by NGO Autism So What.
Minister Fritz will set out government’s vision for tackling Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a whole-of-society manner. He will join academics, experts from NGOs, government and the private sectors, and parents working with people living with ASD.
ASD’s are lifelong, complex developmental disorders affecting (to varying degrees) social behaviour and communication. The condition affects 4 to 5 times as many boys than girls, and it is estimated that 7665 children per year are born with ASD in South Africa.
There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
Date: 14 October 2016 (Tomorrow)
Time: 10:00am, with Minister set to speak at 10:40am
