SASSA Does Not Deliver on Its Mandate

On 5 June 2014, Western Cape Minister of Social Development, Albert Fritz, will be holding a media briefing on the spate of administrative disasters, that has left scores of older persons penniless on the very day that they expect to have their social welfare grants paid.

The Minister will present evidence of specific cases where grant recipients have been left destitute with virtually no assistance from SASSA.

There will be photograph and interview opportunities.
