Media Alert: Sporting Equipment Handover

Nineteen clubs in the West Coast will receive R60 000 worth of sporting equipment as part of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport's bid to improve, assist and sustain clubs in the West Coast. The department will be handing over cricket equipment to three clubs, netball equipment to seven clubs, rugby equipment to five clubs, as well as equipment to four football clubs. The handover will take place on Thursday, 23 September at the Hoedtjies Bay Hotel at 17:00.

In addition to the sporting equipment, the clubs will also receive education and training, including basic administration, life skills, coaching and technical courses and transport assistance to away league matches. Netball equipment will include basic training equipment such as cones, bibs, balls, pumps, stopwatches and whistles, cricket teams will receive senior kit bags, coaching bags, junior kit bags, rugby teams will receive contact shields, tackle bags, balls, cones, pump, stopwatches, kicking tee and water bottles, while football teams will receive cones, bibs, pump, stopwatches, balls, whistles and water bottles.
