Media Alert: Minister Meyer to Speak at Afrikaans Space Dictionary Launch

5 October 2011

On Thursday, 6 October 2011, Dr Ivan Meyer, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape, will speak at the official launch of the first Afrikaans Space Dictionary.

The majority of engineers working in the South African space industry are Afrikaans speaking, which makes this dictionary an important resource for the country. The dictionary is published by the South African Astronomical Observatory, and compiled by Professors Jan du Plessis and Christo Viljoen, to mark the hosting of the 62nd International Astronautical Congress in Cape Town.

Date: Thursday, 6 October 2011
Time: 18:00
