Minister Meyer Hosts Sportswomen on International Women's Day

The Provincial Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Dr Ivan Meyer, hosted a breakfast on 8 March for leading Western Cape sportswomen.

Some of these women included, amongst others, the 72-year-old Petronella "Nellie" Kleinsmidt, who is the most senior karateka in Africa, 2012 Judo Olympic qualifier Chantelle Doddemeade, Springbok rugby player Janine Felix and table tennis umpire Genevieve Lentz, who will be umpiring at the 2012 Olympics.

Since 1975, International Women's Day has been globally celebrated on 8 March.
