High-Performance Netball Training Skills Athletes For Elite Level

20 August 2018

The Western Cape Netball Federation hosted their inaugural High-Performance Training Camp from 9 to 11 August 2018 at the Cape Winelands Netball clubhouse in Paarl.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) facilitated the participation of 60 athletes from the various District Sport Academies in the province. The athletes came from the Eden, Cape Winelands, West Coast, Central Karoo, Overberg and the Metro Sport Academy.

The High-Performance Training Camp was aimed at developing the skills of athletes by preparing them for the elite level of Netball South Africa. The athletes were put through various fitness and psychological tests. The training camp provided athletes with the platform to be selected for the Western Cape Southern Stings trails.

DCAS strives to give the people of the Western Cape the opportunity to participate in various sport codes. We encourage communities to participate and reach their full potential through sport and recreation, BETTER TOGETHER.
