Minister Meyer Acknowledges Mossel Bay Municipality at Special Council Sitting

Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Dr Ivan Meyer, will tomorrow, 12 April 2012, at a special sitting of the Mossel Bay Council, acknowledge the municipality's contribution towards the promotion of social inclusion during the recent Dias Festival. Themed "Where Cultures Meet", the 2012 festival, which was organised by the Mossel Bay Municipality, will be recognised for its contribution to the promotion of multi-cultural diversity within Mossel Bay.

Thereafter, Minister Meyer and the Executive Mayor of Mossel Bay will attend the sod-turning ceremony at the site of the proposed new library in Kwanonqaba, Mossel Bay, where the minister will also handover a cheque of R6 000 000 towards the building of the library. Later in the day, he will also be handing over an total amount of R635 000 00 to various SWD sport federations.
