Worcester Museum Invests In Youth On Human Rights Day

3 April 2017

On 22 March 2017 a diverse group of young people gathered at the Worcester Museum in celebration of Human Rights Day.

Junior Mayor Ivanka Ceasar addressed the group, expressing her views on human rights and encouraged them to use the opportunities available to them to move forward in life. Andre Plaatjes, a former farmworker who progressed to farm manager, shared how numerous challenges motivated him to work hard to become the Farmworker of the Year. The highlight of the celebrations was a performance by learners from the Worcester Secondary School about the challenges of the past and the privileges of our democracy.

The celebrations at the museum inspired the audience to be proud South Africans and fostered a new love for our province and country.
