Media Alert: Young Drama Festival Winners to Star in Suidooster Drama Series

14 June 2016

Tomorrow, 15 June 2016, Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais will accompany the three winners of the Department’s Tridistrict Drama Festival held during the Suidoosterfees earlier this year.

The winners will be starring in an episode of the South African Drama Series, Suidooster. They are:

  • Llewellyn Bond, a 15 year old from George High School, originally from Sedgefield from the winning show “Affie Kleinplaas” who won the Tridistrict Festival for 2015/16; and
  • Robyn September (18) and William Michaels (26), both from Heidelberg who were the runner up performers with their Production “Andrea”.

Hosted by the Department annually, the Tridistrict Drama Festival is the finale of the drama festivals held in each district of the province throughout the year.  These festivals afford the youth in our communities across the Western Cape the opportunity to develop their skills in the arts as well as a platform for talent identification.
