Cheques Handed Over To Endurocad And RPC Academy In Support Of Sport

17 February 2016

The Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) handed over a cheque of R100 000 to Endurocad, a South African Endurance Academy, and R50 000 to the Rugby Performance Centre (RPC) Academy on Tuesday 16 February 2016. The events took place at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) and Riebeek West Sports Academy, respectively.

In line with the Western Cape Government’s strategic goals, Endurocad and the RPC Academy serve to use sport as a constructive tool to affect improved education outcomes and opportunities for youth development, as well as increased wellness and opportunities to address social ills.

DCAS Minister Anroux Marais described the occasions as a great privilege for her. She said: “Nelson Mandela once said, ‘Sport has the power to change the world’. I do believe that Endurocad and the RPC Academy have the potential to do the same.”

DCAS supports sport development across the province. Let us continue to develop our local athletes BETTER TOGETHER.
