Western Cape Ministers Lead from the Front in the WoW Challenge

13 October 2015

On Tuesday, 13 October 2015, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais and Minister of Health, Dr. Nomafrench Mbombo, took part in the Western Cape on Wellness (WoW) challenge by taking part in a fitness session at the Company’s Gardens in the Cape Town CBD.

The Department of Health is driving the WoW initiative, whereby participants are encouraged to change their lifestyles over a long-term period in order to live healthier, more active lives.

Olivia Carolisen from the Provincial gym lead the aerobics session, and both the Ministers and various WoW participants took part. This was also in preparation for the Ministerial challenge which will form part of the Metro Better Together Games.

The Western Cape Government offers staff the opportunity to change their lifestyle and live more active lives. We encourage staff to participate and use the opportunities in order to create an active and healthy public service BETTER TOGETHER.
