16 April 2015

Some of the world’s top ice hockey stars are in Cape Town to participate in the 2015 Ice Hockey World Championships Division II Group B tournament at Grand West Casino and Entertainment World until Sunday, 19 April 2015.

The tournament, which started on 13 April, sees six of the world’s best teams compete for the Division II Group B crown – South Africa, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, China and Bulgaria. This is the third time Cape Town has played host to this prestigious international tournament after successfully hosting the event in 2013.

As part of its major events programme, the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) provided the Western Province Hockey Federation with funding in the amount of R100 000 to host the event.
