Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport Employee Receives Provincial Star Award

5 December 2014

The Provincial Star Award for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) was presented to Goolam Mohamed of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) at the 4th Annual Datacentrix ECM Awards on 27 November 2014 in Cape Town.

The Provincial Star Award for ECM recognises exceptional performance in implementing OpenText ECM software solutions in the public sector. Mohamed successfully overcame multiple logistical challenges to ensure the roll-out of ECM in the provincial government stays on track.

Mohamed has been a long time champion of ECM from the time he worked at the Centre for e-Innovation at the Department of the Premier. The responsibility for implementing the first phase of ECM in the provincial government was assigned to DCAS under his leadership.

“The team worked hard to deliver under challenging circumstances. I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been chosen for this prestigious award. It is a wonderful feeling to be recognised for doing what one is passionate about,” he said.

ECM is expected to provide a platform for more efficient and effective service delivery by the Western Cape Government, better together.
