South African Book Fair in Cape Town

11 June 2014

The South African Book Fair, previously known as the Cape Town Book Fair, will return to the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 13 to 15 June 2014. The event has established itself as the premier book and publishing exhibition in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Library Service component of the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) will have a promotions stand at the Fair. The Language Services component will be facilitating storytelling sessions with learners at the stand. Prof. Nomafrench Mbombo, Minister for Cultural Affairs and Sport, has indicated she will be participating in the event.

The three-day book fest will bring publishers, authors, exhibitors, speakers, book associations, book distributors, book stores, electronic book traders, libraries, literary agents, printers, reprography agents, bibliophiles, and technology manufacturers from around the world together in one place.

Tickets will be on sale at the door at a cost of R50 per adult and R20 for pensioners. Children under the age of 18 receive free entry.
