Minister Meyer speaking as the patron of the Corporate Games
On Thursday, 27 February 2014, Minister Ivan Meyer joined the launch of the Cape Town Corporate Games as the patron of these games for 2014.
The third annual Cape Town Corporate Games will be held from 5 to 8 June 2014 at the V&A Waterfront and other supporting venues across the Mother City. The aims of the games are to encourage companies and other organisations to support their employees to pursue a more active lifestyle, to enhance teamwork and co-operation at work, to provide valuable opportunities for networking and brand exposure, and to provide lots of friendly sporting rivalry and fun. Winners from the Better Together Games will have an opportunity to participate.
Minister Meyer said in his speech that it is important to encourage healthy lifestyles amongst employees in all sectors in order to ensure a healthy society. He emphasised the fact that healthy employees means increased productivity in the workplace and that employees should be supported in living healthy lifestyles.
