Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety Anroux Marais has called on members of the public to come forward with information regarding the murder of a teenager in Paarl last Friday.
“The murder of Lee-Hogan Williams, a learner at Paulus Joubert Secondary School in Paarl, is a heinous crime. Lee-Hogan and a friend of his were robbed in the Fairyland Cemetery on Friday night. Lee-Hogan was stabbed with a knife and died on the scene,” Minister Marais said.
“This is the second Western Cape learner to die from stab wounds in two weeks, after Deveney Nel was killed in Caledon. My plea is to any member of the public with information on the murder to please contact the South African Police Service urgently. This violence against the school-going youth of the Western Cape cannot stand. Together we can beat crime,” Minister Marais concluded.
