Media Alert: Minister Plato to accompany new Police Ombudsman taking his Oath of Office.

 

Tomorrow, Thursday 20 September 2018, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, and the Head of Department for Community Safety, Gideon Morris, will accompany the new Western Cape Police Ombudsman, Mr Johan Brand, as Judge President John Hlophe administers his Oath of Office.

Mr Brand has assumed office on 1 September 2018 and after taking the Oath of Office at the office of Judge President Hlophe, will fully assume all the powers, functions and obligations which comes with the appointment.

Minister Plato will use the opportunity to introduce the new Police Ombudsman to the media following the taking of his oath of office.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
