On Friday 22 August 2014, and Saturday, 23 August 2014, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will host the Provincial Policing Needs and Priorities (PNP) consultation process for the Hermanus and Ceres police clusters respectively.
The five month consultation process across the province aims to gather information from communities on their specific policing needs and priorities to be included in the PNP report which will be submitted to the National Minister of Police for his consideration, when determining where different policing resources are needed.
During these meetings, communities have the opportunity to meet the Minister of Community Safety, meet their Community Policing Forum (CPF) and Cluster CPF Chairpersons, engage with their respective Neighbourhood Watch structures, South African Police Services (SAPS) station commanders as well as identify, discuss and confirm the specific needs and priorities their communities face.
Through the PNP, the Western Cape Government is committed to working Better Together to increase the safety of all our communities.
There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
Note: All media are invited to attend.
