Deputy Minister and MEC to Warn Learners Against Dangers of Drugs

Social Development Deputy Minister Dr Jean Benjamin and Western Cape Education MEC Cameron Dugmore will be addressing learners at the four high schools in George as part of the government's ongoing awareness and education campaign on drugs and substance abuse.

ANC-MP for George, Bruce Kannemeyer, extended the invitation to the ministers following concerns about the drug "Tik" in schools.

The programme of the visits to the four schools is as follows:

  1. 10h30 - 11h30 : Pacaltsdorp High School (Dep Min Benjamin)
  2. 10h30 - 11h30 : Imizamo Yethu High School (MEC Dugmore)
  3. 11h45 - 12h45 : George High School (Dep Min Benjamin)
  4. 11h45 - 12h45 : PW Botha High School (MEC Dugmore)
