Media Alert: Minister Grant to Inspect New Delft School

5 June 2011

On Tuesday, Minister Grant will be visiting two of the four new Delft school sites that are due for completion by the end of July.

The four schools have been built as part of the Western Cape Education Department's (WCED) infrastructure plan. New housing developments in the Delft area have led to a growing population, and therefore a greater demand for school placement.

The four new schools are expected to ease the demand for school admissions in the area. Two primary schools and two high schools are currently being built.

Tomorrow, Minister Grant will first be visiting the site of the new technical high school (still to be named) and then the new Aberdare Secondary School site.

Specific details on each of the four new schools will be released.

The Minister will also provide attendees with an update on the WCED infrastructure plan.

Time: 10:35
Venue: Directions - The directions to the new technical school is: from Cape Town, take Modderdam Road to Belhar, go onto Stellenbosch Arterial in the direction of Delft, turn right into Symphony Way, turn left into first road (Fortworth Rd), proceed past two traffic circles, turn left at third traffic circle, school site will be in front of you.

The attendees will then proceed to the Aberdare Primary School site for inspection.
