Low Water Pressure in Goodwood and Parow on Sunday 11 July

7 July 2010

The Water and Sanitation Department will be doing an emergency shutdown on the bulk water supply main feeding the Goodwood and Parow area on Sunday night 11 July 2010.

The water supply to the area will be rerouted via an alternate source in the network, but this will result in low water pressure being experienced in the Goodwood/Parow area from 22:00 on Sunday until 06:00 on Monday.

The shutdown is necessary to replace a vital one point five meter (1, 5 m) diameter valve and cannot be delayed due to the importance of its function in the bulk water supply system.

Residents are kindly requested to use water conservatively during this period to ensure that the demand does not exceed the supply.

The City wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused. It is imperative that we maintain our water supply infrastructure to ensure the continued supply of quality drinking water to our citizens.
