Metro Police's Visible Patrols Lead to Six Arrests

The continued visible presence of the Metro Police across the city is paying off in the fight against crime. This week officers arrested six suspects for different crimes.

According to the Metro Police's Deputy Chief, Yolanda Faro: "Officers arrested two suspects in Belhar for possession of counterfeit goods, after they confiscated counterfeit Pacific Blue cigarettes. The suspects were arrested whilst the officers were busy with their visible patrols."

On Thursday evening, the Metro Police's Tactical Response and Dog Unit arrested four suspects in Elsies River, Delft and Ravensmead for robbery, possession of dagga and possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.

The following items were confiscated during the operations:

  • one (1) gram of dagga
  • one (1) thirty eight (38) special firearms
  • thirty eight (38) special rounds
  • nine (9) nine milimetre (9mm) rounds
  • one firearm holster
