11 November 2010

On Monday 15 November the City of Cape Town's Mayoral Committee Member for Housing, Councillor Shehaam Sims, will 'push the button' to start the first draw in the monthly housing debtor incentive competition. The initiative is aimed at further encouraging all housing debtors in both the City's housing rental (43 000) and selling schemes (21 300) to pay their accounts.

The draw will take place in the Civic Centre Concourse, Cape Town.

Each month, six (6), one thousand rand (R1000) shopping vouchers will be awarded to six (6) housing occupants who have paid their housing charges consistently every month.

Occupants who have paid their housing accounts for at least three consecutive months will qualify for the competition. Those occupants who receive an indigent grant and have been paying their account consistently for the last three months will also qualify.

Winners will be excluded from the draw for three months following the award before again becoming eligible to participate in the draw.

Date: Monday 15 November

Time: 12:00

Venue: Concourse Level, 2nd Floor, Civic Centre, Cape Town

Note: All media are welcome to attend.

Councillor Sims will hand over the incentive scheme vouchers to the winners at a brief ceremony on Friday 19 November 2010.
