Premier Zille and Minister Fritz to Outline Substance Abuse Interventions

19 August 2013

On Monday, 19 August, Premier Helen Zille and Western Cape Minister of Social Development Albert Fritz will host a joint media briefing on the progress made to date by the Western Cape Government with interventions to reduce drug and alcohol-related harm in the province.

The recent spike of gang violence in hotspot areas of the Cape Flats has once again highlighted the urgent need for interventions to tackle endemic substance abuse in affected communities, which the provincial government has been tackling over the past four years as a critical priority. Premier Zille and Minister Fritz will outline the scope of these interventions.

Date: 19 August 2013
Venue: Room 1-68, first floor, 7 Wale Street (Provincial Legislature and Administration Building)
