Media Alert: Cape Town Metro Plans to Eradicate Bucket System

11 May 2013

Tomorrow, Sunday 12 May, Premier Helen Zille will join Mayor Patricia de Lille, together with Western Cape Minister for Human Settlements Bonginkosi Madikizela, at a media briefing about the City of Cape Town's plans to eradicate the bucket system which is used in 958 households in informal settlements across the Metro.

They will also outline the City's plans to improve access to decent sanitation through expanded roll-out of portable flush toilets (PFTs) to communities where the provision of full flush toilets is deemed impractical.
