Department to launch 8th Youth Café in Velddrif

Tomorrow, the Western Cape Department of Social Development in partnership with the Bergrivier Municipality will launch the Velddrif Youth Café.

This new state-of-the-art, multi million Rand facility is the provinces 8th Youth Cafe.

Located on the West Coast, this is the first Youth Café in the region, and will service youth in Velddrif and the surrounding rural areas.

The Department will be joined by the Member of the Provincial Parliament and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Community Development, Hon. Lorainne Botha.

We will also be joined by the Berg Rivier Executive Mayor, Ald. Evert Manuel, and representatives from our NGO partner, Mfesane, who have been contracted to operate the Youth Café.

The Youth Café will offer opportunities for entrepreneurial, leadership and other skills training, including internet access for job seekers or entrepreneurs.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
