16 Days of Activism: Department to host Gender-Based Violence Workshop

Tomorrow, as part of our 16 Days of Activism campaign, the Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) will convene the Provincial Gender-Based Violence Workshop.

MEC Albert Fritz will open the Workshop which will see the DSD Victim Empowerment Programme host stakeholders from government (SAPS, NPA, Home Affairs etc.), NGOs, academia and international organizations engage on issues affecting the sector.

The Workshop will explore a broad range of issues, from domestic abuse, sexual offences and related crimes, to issues of human trafficking. The discussions will also see the presentation of trends and data, and a charting of a way forward through best practices.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
