New Sozo Foundation Vrygrond Youth Café to be launched by Minister Fritz

29 May 2016

Tomorrow, Minister Albert Fritz will launch the province’s fifth Youth Café in Vrygrond, Cape Town.

This new Youth Café is wholly owned and operated by NGO, Sozo Foundation, who were inspired by the model initiated by the Department of Social Development (DSD) through our own Youth Cafés in Mitchells plain, Athlone, George, and Oudtshoorn.

Like DSD, the Sozo Foundation is guided by the Provincial Youth Strategy and Provincial Strategic Goal 2 which speaks to improving education outcomes and opportunities for youth development. This has seen the Western Cape Government and our partners prioritize the empowerment and development of young people in the province in a whole-of-society manner.

The Youth Café will offer entrepreneurial, leadership and other skills training, including internet access for job seekers or entrepreneurs.

There will be an opportunity for photos and interviews.

Date: 30 May 2016 (Tomorrow)

Time: 09:30am, with Minister scheduled to deliver address at 10:20am.

Venue: 1115 Vrygrond Avenue (Located opposite Capricorn Primary School), Vrygrond, Muizenberg, Cape Town
