Postponed: Youth Skills Transfer Programme Launch

13 August 2015

Western Cape Social Development Minister, Mr Albert Fritz, will on Thursday launch the innovative Youth Skills Transfer Programme (YST). The Programme is an initiative of the Department of Social Development (DSD) in partnership with the Community Chest and Cape Nature.

Our partnership with Cape Nature and Community Chest will see the YST offer a customized package of skills development workshops for youth who are not educated, employed, skilled or trained, and will benefit 390 young people.

The YST programme is a major investment into the province’s young people, and is the culmination of an extensive province-wide ministerial youth outreach initiative conducted over 7 months, which consulted young people from all 6 regions. In addition to the YST, 13 Youth Coordinators were identified from this process, who will be present at the launch.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
