SA Fiscal Policy: A Reflection on the Appropriation of Government Resources

Professor Rossouw was one the speakers of the Western Cape Provincial Treasury's inaugural Fiscal Policy Seminar held today. Other speakers included amongst others, Professor Lieb Loots, Dr Catriona Purfield of the World Bank, Michael Sachs of Head of the Budget Office at national Treasury, Professor Lieb Loots who was formerly attached to the University of the Western  Cape and Dr Ramos Mabugu of the Financial Fiscal Commission.

Commenting on the seminar Minister Meyer highlighted that the objective of the seminar was to create the space for government to listen and consider the contributions of those present as the Western Cape government prepares for the Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) and the 2015/16 budget.

Thanking the attendees which ranged from public sector economists, researchers, policy analysts, treasury officials and academics,  Minister Meyer  assured everyone that he looked forward to the next fiscal policy seminar and building on the success of today's the engagement.
