Safer Festive Season 2004/ 5 kick-off

"Towards making the Western Cape a Safer Home for All this festive season"

The Western Cape Minister for Community Safety Leonard Ramatlakane and Cape Town Executive Mayor Noma- India Mfeketo officially invites you the members of the media to the official kick off of the "SAFER FESTIVE SEASON anti-crime campaign for 2004/5"

The programme, aimed at reducing crime during the festive season( just like 2003/4 festive season) will be built around a high visibility campaign and anti- crime operations on the roads, on trains, on the beaches and in public places.

Leading the campaign will be the SAPS, who will be joined by city police, provincial and local traffic as well as more than 4 000 Bambanani Against Crime Neighbourhood Watch volunteers from throughout the Western Cape.

All of these agencies will be presented to the public at the official launch, which will be held on: SATURDAY, 27th November at the Vygieskraal stadium, ATHLONE. 13H00pm

NB: Media is requested to attend a media briefing which will also include the official launch of a book " Bambanani Against Crime- An Improved Service Delivery Methodology.

The media briefing will be held prior to the official launch of the Safer Festive Season programme. TIME: 11:00am at the Vygieskraal stadium
