Thirty Five Arrested Over Weekend During Provincial 'Safely Home' Operations

Provincial Traffic Services arrested thirty one (31) drunk drivers, two (2) drivers for overloading their goods vehicles and two (2) persons for the possession of dagga, during operations over the past long weekend.

During operations:

  • nine thousand four hundred and twenty four (9424) vehicles were stopped
  • one thousand seven hundred and four (1704) drivers were screened for alcohol use
  • one thousand seven hundred and fifty three (1753) fines were issued.
  • one hundred and ninety six (196) a seatbelt fines

Provincial Traffic Law Enforcement officials were out on full force and will continue with these operations, till we have compliance with traffic laws.
