Minister Albert Fritz to launch Youth Safety Ambassador programme

Tomorrow, Tuesday 20 April 2021, Minister Albert Fritz will launch the Youth Safety Ambassador Programme at West End Primary School in Mitchells Plain.

Under the leadership of Minister Albert Fritz, the Youth Safety Ambassador Programme will see 1000 Safety Ambassadors placed at different institutions around the province. This project forms part of the Violence Prevention component of the Provincial Safety Plan. 

The purpose of the Safety Ambassador Programme is to create opportunities for people to spend their time in a constructive, productive manner, as well as to work with DOCS Area-Based Teams in violence prevention initiatives. 

These Safety Ambassadors will earn a monthly EPWP stipend for the duration of the contract which will run for six to twelve months.
