DOCS officials to take part in SAPS women-led operation

Tomorrow, the officials from the Department of Community Safety (DOCS) will join SAPS in a women-led operation and outreach program at Steenberg SAPS precinct. The operation will commence with a joint briefing at Retreat Civic Centre. This will be followed by a joint roadblock in which information on GBV and Domestic Violence will be distributed and a visit to three old age homes where care packages will be handed over.

Minister Fritz said, “I welcome the joint women-led operation as it demonstrates the close working relationship between SAPS and the DOCS. I look forward to working closer still with the Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Yolisa Matakata in efforts to reduce crime and specifically tackle the prevalence of Gender Based Violence, Femicide and Domestic Violence.”
