1 March 2012

The Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will congratulate the Western Cape's Provincial Traffic Services for receiving the RTMC Quarterly Award for Most Impactful and Effective Road Safety Initiatives on Friday, 2 March 2012.

The Road Traffic Management Fund (RTMC) has indicated that many of the initiatives by the Provincial Traffic Services of the Western Cape will now be incorporated into the National Rolling Enforcement Plan as part of the best practices obtained from the Western Cape.

The nomination and selection was made by members of the National Law Enforcement Technical Committee (LETCOM), who were impressed by the innovative ideas in respect of planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the projects rolled out by the Western Cape Provincial Traffic Services.

Minister Plato will be congratulating the Provincial Traffic Services and Provincial Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa, at the handing over of certification and awards at the Swellendam Traffic Centre.
