Apply for funding for Youth Safety Promotion Programme for Youth During Easter

The Department of Community Safety invites Religious institutions to apply for funding for Safety Promotion Programme for Youth during the 2016 Easter School Holidays

The Department of Community Safety invites religious institutions (registered NPOs/ NPCs) to submit proposals for safety promotion programmes for youth living in high crime areas. The Department will support these activities at a rate of up to R50 per day per youth participant on condition that these activities run for 10 days at least 8 hours per programme day and at least one meal is provided for each participant every programme day.

Applications must be submitted on the prescribed application form, introducing your organisation and its track record in community safety, the programme you envisage, programme objectives, a budget and a detailed schedule of proposed activities. Organisations are requested to focus on alcohol harm reduction awareness during the programmes. The Department may request applicants to participate in further safety promotion activities. Applications are invited for:

  • Easter School Holidays starting 18 March – 4 April 2016

The programme will be implemented in high priority communities. These Focus areas are: Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Nyanga, Mitchells Plain, Manenberg, Hanover Park, Paarl East , Kraaifontein , Elsies River , Bishop Lavis , Delft & Wesbank . Preference will be given to applicants who conducted programmes during 2015 December School Holidays, others will be considered on merit.

 

Applications should be submitted no later than Friday, 5 February 2016.
