Minister Plato to launch December Youth Holiday Programmes

Today, Monday 7 December 2015, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will launch the youth summer holiday programmes which will see opportunities available to youth across the province providing positive and safe alternatives during the December 2015/January 2016 school holidays.

At the launch, Minister Plato will host the religious fraternity who is partnering with the Department of Community Safety on the Youth Safety and Religious Partnership (YSRP) programme to thank them for their continued commitment to our youth in the province.

The Department of Community Safety, through the YSRP, is committed to provide opportunities for the youth of our province throughout the school holiday period. The YSRP youth interventions aims to positively engage, entertain and safeguard our youth during school holidays when they are at greater risk for exposure to substance abuse, drugs, violence and gangsterism.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
